Urethro-rectal fistulas are major complication of prostate surgery – extremely rare, very feared from surgeons. They do present in communities where radical prostatectomy is being introduced, especially laparoscopic approach and doctors are not sufficiently careful and do not watch and think about this possibility.

This article reports on other reasons for urethro-rectal fistulas – namely BPH surgery. Eight cases for this rare pathology is enough to present nice case series, unfortunately this opportunity was not taken by the authors. This article is merely a sketch, first draft of something which may with some work, writing passion and language skill develop into a fair report. Perhaps somebody from author's community may take this opportunity and write longer and more detailed report.
