    This paper is a review on telemedicine. It focuses primarily on the past history of telemedicine and there is very little recent literature referenced. A current PubMed search yields over 1700 articles published in the last 2 years on Telemedicine.

     

    There are many acronyms used without definitions, including: ICT, IP, ISDN, and POTS.
