1. From 2006 till today: Division “Radiation Protection” - Unit “Radiation Protection Dosimetry”.

• Development and use of devices for the measurement of external dosimetry witl the TLD and the OSLD methods.
• Giving Lectures  

2. From 1989 till 2006: Division “Radiation Protection” - Department “Safeguards & Nuclear Measurements”.

• Nuclear spectrometry in samples and “In-vivo” Spectrometry (Whole Body Counting).
• Task: Management of Whole Body Counting Laboratory: Measurements of people for all types of internal contamination (about 1300 Meas./year)
• The section has 7 persons: 2 engineers, 5 technicians.
• Development, test and application of software’s for the WBC (Visual Basic 6, Visual Basic.NET, Fortran-77, Quick Basic, DOS, …). All the software programs (except GLDT written by Gavron) used in the coherent system managing the WBC laboratory have been written by myself.
• Development of procedures for Quality Assurance Acquisition (the lab is accredited since 1995).
• Supervision of trainees for alpha and gamma spectrometry laboratory and for in vivo measurements (WBC) during their end of study work.
• Training for visitors for laboratory of Nuclear spectrometry and In vivo counting.
• Invited as lecturer by University of Leuven  (K.U.L., Prof. J. Van Dam), by Université de Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL, Prof. André Wambersie) and by the “Centre des Energies Nouvelles” in Algiers, Algeria (and others: see bibliobraphy)
• two trainees from Cameroon sent by the I.A.E.A. for a period of three months, one from Tunisia for a period of two months also sent by IAEA. Other collaborations with Algeria, Nigeria, Bengladesh,...via direct collaboration. Supervision of final studies works for Industrial Engineers (from the school of Mol, Diepenbeek, Brussels) or civil engineer (Ghent University).
• Lectures given in the framework of the IsRP (International School for Radiation Protection). Nuclear radiations detection and measurement, Dosimetry, Radiation Protection.

More than 80 participants from different countries. Thirty-seven presentations published in Radiat. Prot. Dosim. Vol. 89 Nos. 3-4 2000.
• From 2003, collaboration with Canada (Dr. Gary Kramer) in a Memorandum of Understanding for 5 years.
• In 2000, I have been invited by Dr. R. Griffith to participate as consultant to the writing of a new I.C.R.U. report: "Direct Determination of the body Content of Radionuclides". ICRU Report ICRU ISSN 1473-6691, published in 2003 in the form of a book.
• Co-operation work in Algiers (Algeria) organised by I.A.E.A. in 1997 (training of operators and installation of software), two weeks and lecture and in 1993.
• From 1999, member of OMINEX, a European working group subsided by the European Commission for the improvement of the internal dosimetry.
• Participation to Inter-comparisons (organized by Canada, European Union, IAEA).

Professional Work History in timely reversed order

 December 1989 till today: SCK-CEN – Radiation Protection, Scientific Collaborator for Whole Body Counting, and contribution to the work of the section head comprising the ?- & ?-spectrometry laboratory, the Whole Body Counting and a part of the charge on service and research on Radon.
The task was to implement personal computer into the automation of the laboratory, to manage the operational aspects of the laboratory (~1300 in-vivo measurements/year all types included), the development of new technologies (e. g. proportional counter replaced by a double planar HPGe detector), to collect and analyse the results; organise visits, training new workers. Staff of 7 persons (+ trainees). See also point 3. Development of new in vivo counting based on room temperature diodes (silicon, Cs,Zn,Te, HgBrI2,…).

1985-1989: SCK•CEN: Department Technology - Calculation Office. Assist  the designers in the development of experiences in the BR2 research reactor. Design and optimisation of Drums for the storage of warm radioactive waste. Work on computer (Fortran 77, Basic, batch files in a main frame): Hydraulic, mechanical and thermal calculations.

1977-1985: SCK•CEN: Reactor Physics Department - Section Fuel cycle physics: Underwater measurements of irradiated fuel elements and irradiated experiments. Staff of 3 persons (+ trainees).  

1974-1977: SCK-CEN: Reactor Physics Department – Section Theoretical Study of Reactors: Use of computer codes (PREPROCESSING, DTF-4, TRIBU,…) for the calculation with diffusion and transport theory of experimental devices in reactors, for storage of fuel elements, for BR2 investigation studies (e.g. Replacement of the beryllium matrix)
