Brief Biography:
CAREER INTENTIONS:
I have been performing procedures in Gastrointestinal and HPB Surgical Oncology since 2008. This initially involved open approaches to oesophagectomy, gastrectomy, colectomy, whipple’s procedure, radical cholecystectomy, hepatectomy etc to name a few. Subsequently, i have been performing a few of these procedures by the laparoscopic technique. My current focus is on the following.
1.Reduced Port Laparoscopic Surgery
2.Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery
3.Major Liver Resections in patients with compromised Liver function

TEACHING:
I have been actively involved in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate students at both Calicut Medical College as well as Yenepoya Medical College. This involves bedside teaching and tutorials. I take active part in the academic lectures and seminars conducted in the Department of Surgery. I have also been invited to deliver lectures on various Surgical topics as well as demonstrate techniques for general surgeons. I have participated and presented Surgical audits during my stint at AIIMS, New Delhi.
ADMINISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP:
I have invested considerable time and effort to establish a training center for Minimally invasive surgery (surgical technology learning center) at Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte. This center is the only one of its kind in the entire D.K.District and caters to five medical colleges. Postgraduate students can learn and practice laparoscopic surgery with the help of endotrainers in this center.
