    The different adaptive self-organization processes after polio  can create similar solutions to the locomotion problems of the polio survivors. One of them is the palm-walking, but there are many other types of walking. I think it is very important to say that this is the less common way to walk. That is why this article is important.

    If the authors can, please write one paragrapher explaining other important way to walk, i.e: with crutches and orthosis.

    I study post-polio syndrome in brazil since 2003. I am at the Federal University of Sao Paulo - Neuromuscular sector. I did four important studies on PPS since them. One of them was my thesis for masters degree.

     

    I am physiotherapist specialized in motor neuron diseases.

    I am president of the brazilian association os amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and a director of the brazilian post-polio syndrome association.
