  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

    The main claim of the paper is that Hot Melt Extrusion is an efficient technology for manufacturing drug delivery systems and has a wide scope of dosage it forms it can produce.  These claims are important as a majority of drugs currently being produced have low solubility, a problem Hot Melt Extrusion aims to solve.

    No.  This paper is a review paper over a popular technique to address poor drug solubility and doesn't address a new technique just developed.

    Yes

    Claim did not require any results to be found.  Review paper merely required research into previous literature to make its claim regarding the benefits of Hot Melt Extrusion

    Yes.  A comparison between Hot Melt Extrusion and Spray Drying; two seperate techniques that aim to address the same pharmaceutical problem of poor solubility would make the analysis of HME more complete and wouldn't take an enormous amount of work.

    Yes.  The paper covers the technique fairly well and addresses the history of HME to how it works to what it's used for to the techniques used to analyze the products from HME.
