    The purpose of this article is to describe a solution to the retention crises exhibited in severley resorbed alveolar ridge cases.

    This article presents a case in which the maxillary residual alveolar ridge and has flabby tissue anteriorly.  The authors state that the reduction in cuspal inclination can improve stability and retention.  They also state that the reduction of weight of a maxillary prosthesis has been demonstrated to be an aid when making an obturator for a large maxillofacial defect but has been rarely utilized in the fabrication of complete dentures.
