  • Other Comments:

Evaluation of the methodology of the clinical study.-
    - Introduction does not provide sufficient information regarding the topic of research focus. It will be need more information on other similar studies and why this study is different.
    - Regarding the study design requires a fuller explanation: not indicated whether this study was reviewed by an ethics committee, no detailed description of study design (type of study, losses, visits and procedures, etc.), the sample size must statistically justified, is not detailing the degree of satisfaction and how it will be evaluate with this scale. The satisfaction scale used must be justified that is appropriate and that is proven to the country in which it is used. No indication if all patients have successfully completed the scale.

Why only was evaluated from day 0 and six months, if the patient was followed during more visits?
    - The results are not very powerful, with a sample size that small. Is is need a comparison with other similar studies and tell which is the importance of this over others.

In conclusion, the relevance of the study is hampered by the insufficient development of a methodology. It would be a more complete design appropriate to evaluate satisfaction and increase the relevance of the study.

  • Other Comments: The paper evaluates a very small number of patients and there is no control group. These data can easily be criticized because of this, no statistic significance without a control group with let's say just coronally positioned flap without graft material. The small sample produces a result that cannot be compared to similar studies. I would suggest the authors to run a radomized clinical controlled study, adding more patients and data to support their goal. The way it is now it's just the opinion of 5 patients operated with a surgical technique without an alternative choice, they are obviously satisfied because their situation improved. Us as reader of the paper cannot know wether this treatment was any better than other because we have no control to match.

  • Other Comments: The topic is of significant interest to developing and developed regions. The article tackles very practical issues in the treatment of recession, fundamental to good Oral health and retention of natural dentition. In the area of proactive management of gingival recession cases the author has presented a contemporary and clinically robust methodology that can be applied successfully quite easily. Dentists often find themselves surrendering to lack of knowledge as to the cause and treatment of this disease. Dr A. Mahajan has presented a practical and clinically sound study that has significant clinical application.
