The article by Simmi Kharb et al is an interesting study and envisages the importance of cardiovascular diseases in different genders. However, it is reqlly hard to correlate the data, as the article lacks proper illustration of the data in the form of either "table/Graph.

    Major comments

    1. Methodology has to be elaborated on each parameters.

    2. Results should be properly illustrated to make a comparison and should be well correlated with the present data available to arrive at a clear conclusion.

This is an important and timely clinical study examining the negative correlations in uric acid and ascorbate levels in pregnancy with preeclampsia and diabetes which provides a model for future studies in this area. The paper would be enhanced by including discussion of recent related studies:

    1. Wolak et al (2010) High uric acid level during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy is associated with higher risk for gestational diabetes mellitus and mild preeclampsia. Hypertens Pregnancy PMID20822424
