It is a well thought out and presented viewpoint. It will be great if the author can discuss with reference to the role of integrated learning as presented in the following papers across the globe and diverse disciplines:

    J Chiropr Educ. 2010 Fall;24(2):194-7.

  • Other Comments: 1. The second sub-heading in the text namely "Assessment of Basic Sciences in India" only gives details of when it is done. Some more relevant details about it in the context of the purpose of the article would add value ... 2. The fifth subheading simply states "Assessment". Since this word assessment appears many times as subheading, it is suggested that this sub-heading be modified to fit /reflect what is attempted to be communicated under that sub-heading. 3. Under the sub-heading "conclusions", the statement "Thus OBEs have an important role to play in medical education" is too much of a generalisation. It could be rephrased to state the context along with the purpose
