Dr. Vijai Singh

Brief Biography:


Dr. Vijai Singh is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Institute of Systems & Synthetic Biology, Universite d'Evry Val d'Essonne, Evry, France. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from V.B.S. Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, India. He received his master degree in Biotechnology from the Department of Biotechnology, V.B.S. Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology (2009) from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India. During his Ph.D. study, he has developed molecular and immunoassays for rapid and sensitive diagnostic of Aeromonas hydrophila. Then he has joined the laboratory of Prof. Alfonso Jaramillo in 2009 and worked on design and characterization of synthetic oscillatory circuits and related gene circuits. Prior joining again the laboratory of Prof. Alfonso Jaramillo, he has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Invertis University, Bareiily, India. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology, Ulsan, South Korea. He serves as a member of editorial board and reviewer of a number of peer-reviewed journals.

My researc­h interest­s include ­the develo­pment of m­olecular a­nd immunoa­ssays for ­disease di­agnosis an­d control ­of pathoge­ns. My fur­ther inter­ests in th­e rewiring­/creation ­of regulat­ory geneti­c networks­ for under­standing o­f cellular­ mechanism­ and also ­designing/­redesignin­g of novel­ biosynthe­tic pathwa­ys for pro­duction va­lue added ­products.
