Research interests:
My research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms involved in neurodegeneration associated with Cerebral ischemia and Traumatic brain injury. In particular I am interested in studying ionic dysregulation associated with ischemia in neurons and astrocytes and the role of Ca2+, Na+ and Cl- ion transporters upon ischemic injury. With respect to glioblastoma multiforme brain tumors, I am studying how the chloride cotransporter functions in regulating chloride and cell volume in GBM cancer cell survival.
What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:
WebmedCentral is an excellent platform to join and be a part of the scientific community. I have seen world eminent scientists as members of this. Its an honor to be part of it.
