Ph.D. Scholar
High Throughput Sequencing Facility, Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Delhi South Campus
Ist Floor, Biotech Centre, High Throughput Sequencing Facility, Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Delhi South Campus

Brief Biography:

I have obtained post graduate degree in Bioinformatics in 2005 and explore the potential of this subject in academic and research area. Therefore, I have joined Super Computer Aided Biotechnology Research Center (a public private joint venture of BTIB Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore(UASB)) at Bangalore as Junior Scientist. I have learn various methods related to high performance computing and networking by using open source technologies. By the grace of Prof. M.S. Yatnatti, I have received opportunity to supervise various bioinformatics dissertations and trainings. Later, I have taken an assignment to assist Prof. S. Rama Rao in the cellular characterization of endemic plants in north-eastern India by using appropriated cytogenetical markers at Plant Molecular Biotechnology Laboratory, Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. Finally, I have joined Delhi University as a scholar, initially I worked at Department of Plant Molecular Biology and than in Department of Botany. By the generous support of Dr. Surekha, Dr. Manu, Dr. Goel, Prof. Amar and Dr. Arun, I would have been able to obtain, analyze and assess biologically significant information from high-throughput sequencing data i.e. related to small RNA and mRNA transcriptome.

Academic positions:

Senior Research Fellow at Department of Botany, University of Delhi January 2012 - Present (1 year 8 months) Working as a SRF in the DBT funded project entitled as "Characterization and manipulation of non-coding and coding RNAs involved in potato tuberization." Junior Research Fellow at Department of Plant Molecular Biology August 2008 - December 2011 (3 years 5 months) I have been involved in the analysis of small RNA data generated from solexa next generation sequencing technology for wheat, brassica etc. Research Scholar at North Eastern Hill University April 2007 - August 2008 (1 year 5 months) I have devoted 18 months time in the Cellular Characterization of endemic plants in north-eastern India by using appropriated cytogenetical markers. Junior Scientist at BTIB University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore June 2005 - September 2006 (1 year 4 months) Handling dissertation work for academic post graduate degree courses of various Universities.
