Brief Biography:
I was born and brought up at Chennai and completed my research studies from University of Madras. I have got my Ph.D., degree from University of Madras in the year 1979 and put up 31 years of Collegiate service from Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchirappalli. After my retirement from the collegiate service I have joined as Professor of Biotechnolocy cum Research coordinator of Dr.M.G.R.Educational & Research Unviersity, Chnennai from 2nd July,2012.
Academic positions:
In the year 1989 I joined as Assistant Professor of Zoology, Jamal Mohamed College,Tiruchy.
Senior Lecturer in 1985, Reader in 1993 and Associate Professor from 2006 to 2012.
Professor of Biotechnology from 2012 to till-date.
Research interests:
I have got publications on impact of environemental pollution on Freshwater fishes, I have also worked on anticancer properties of Green tea Catechins on
on human cancer cell lines. I have got publication in antimicrobial peptides from vertebrate tissues against human pathogenic bacterial.
Any other information:
During my collegiate service I have applied for two years of Leave on loss pay and worked as Sr.P.D.Fellow in the deaprtment of Glycoimmunotherapy in John Wayne Cancer Institute, Santa Monica, California during October,2003 to Nov,2005.
