Brief Biography:


I am a fully trained general surgeon, cardiothoracic surgeon, and surgical oncologist trained at the National Cancer Institute under Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg, UCLA, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell-NY Medical Center in NY under Drs. Robert Ginsberg and O. Wayne Isom with research experience in immunology and cancer cell biology and immunotherapy. I am one of a few robotic thoracic surgeons who have served as "proctors" for Intutitive Surgical's Da Vinci Robot. I have been at UCLA for over 15 years where I am a full professor and was the prior Chief of the Severin Wunderman Division of Thoracic Surgery at UCLA, the Director of the Punch Worthington Resarch Laboratory at UCLA, the Director of the Comprehensive UCLA Mesothelioma Program, former Director of the UCLA Thoracic Oncology Program, Chief of the VHA West Los Angeles Medical Center's Thoracic Surgery Division, Scientific Advisory of the Pacific Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (PHLBI) as well as the Pacific Meso Center of PHBLI and a founding Director of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF).
