Brief Biography:
Prof. Dr. Rahime Simsek was born in April 10, 1971. She has garduated Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy in 1993. She got her MSc degree in 1996, PhD degree in 2000 from Hacettepe University Institute of Health Sciences Pharmaceutical Chemistry program. In 2001-2003, she continued her post-doctoral studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of pharmacy, Department of Medicinal Chemistry in USA. In 2004 and 2010, she was appointed as Associated Professor, and, Professor at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry respectively. Currently, she is a professor of Hacettepe University, Faculty of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Dr. Simsek is the referee for many scientific journals, and the member of scientific societies. Her main research interests are design, synthesis, structure elucidation and activity studies of new drug molecules on cardiovascular system. She published around 135 research articles in international refereed journals. She was awarded “Hacettepe University 2008-2009 Academic Year Encouragement Award” and 2008-Novartis Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry Drug Design and Development Research Award (3rd place).
