Brief Biography:


Joško Osredkar, born on January 27, 1955, Jesenice, Slovenia, married with three children. Faculty for Pharmacy (1981), Specialist of medicinal biochemistry (1987), Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1988), Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (1992). From May 1993 till February 2006 Head of Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry in University Medical Centre Ljubljana, Slovenia, presently Senior councillor at the same institute. Full Professor of Clinical Biochemistry in Faculty for Pharmacy and visiting professor in Faculty for physical activity. Coordinator or active participant of some research projects in the field of reproduction, endocrinology, autism and screening in medicine (Down syndrome – two times participated in intensive course in London). Currently is a leading scientist (from Slovenian side) in the FP6 programme (PHIME - Public health impact of long-term, low-level mixed element exposure in susceptible population strata) and participating in the national project Biomonitoring of chemicals in organisms. Joško Osredkar is the President of Slovenian Anti-Doping Commission and thus involved in the research of anti-doping substances. He is nominated as an expert for the World anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and got the aword of International Olympic committee in 2009.
