Brief Biography:


I graduated in Biological Sciences in 1996 at La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy. After that I moved at the Dept. of Epidemiology, Istituto Dermopatico dell’Immacolata,Rome, Italy, where I worked 1 year. In 1996-2000 I did my 4 years PhD fellowship at the Department of Cellular biotecnology and Hematology, Policlinico Umberto I Hospital, University “La Sapienza”,Rome,Italy. Since 2000 I work in the Dept. of Infectious, Parasitic and Immunomediated Diseases, Istituto Superiore di Sanità,Rome,Italy. After a Postdocorate, I'm now a researcher at the anti-infectious immunity Unit of the Dept.

Research interests:


CD38 expression on human dendritic cells: functional roles; Bordetella pertussisinfection of human dendritic cells; cellular mechanisms of T-helper cells polarization induced by dendritic cells treated with microbial products; roles of interferon-gamma in inflammation and immune response; T-helper 17 cells and induction of chronic autoimmune responses; Chlamydia Pneumoniae: association with atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease; Immunopathogenetic mechanisms induced by Clostridium difficile infection; Immune correlates of protection; Antigen-specific T cell responses.
