Prof. Wang Xiaojia

Associate Professor
China Agricultural University
No. 2, Yuan Ming Yuan West Road, Haidian District

Brief Biography:

Prof. Wang has published 8 first or corresponding-author papers in good to excellent journals after she started as an independent investigator. She has five grants funded by the National Science Foundation of China and received a national research award (the highest honor for young researchers) in the past 5 years. Prof. Wang is proficient in both English and Russian languages and writes extremely well and fast. She is well connected with many other leading universities and research institutes inAmerica,GermanyandChina. In addition, she has a strong sense of responsibility and always willing to take on challenges.

Academic positions:

Visiting Assistant Professor, 2010-2011, The University ofChicago,IL,USA

Associate Professor, 2006-present, ChinaAgricultural University,Beijing,China

Research interests:

My research deals with the molecular mechanisms of envelope viruses entering host cells, focusing on the tertiary structure conformations and interactions of important proteins during virus entrance.  The present results offer the possibility of designing a relatively broad-spectrum class of antiviral mix-infection inhibitors.  A Chinese patent has been awarded. Part of the result was published in Virology, 2011.

What I think of the idea behind WebmedCentral:

It is my hope to organize the meetings for younger researchers in the chosen field (more difficult); or to transmit the up-dated scientific proceedings for each others by internet (easier to catch up)
