Brief Biography:


The author is eminent medical entomologist , having 32 years of research and teaching experience in the field of medical entomology particularly of taxonomy, bio-ecology , control & management aspects of vector mosquitoes ( Malaria, Dengue, Chikungunya), Sandflies ( Kala-azar), Fleas ( Plague) and Tick & Mite (Scrub Typhus & KFD). He has published 85 papers in national/international journals/proceeding of workshop/seminars. He has undergone training on Malaria and other communicable diseases at University of South Carolina-USA. & Thailand and Malaysia to study Epidemiology and Control of Malaria.

As a member of central team and independently also investigated outbreak of vector borne diseases all over the country and suggested remedial measures to the state government. During natural calamities like earthquakes, Tsunami, Cyclone and flood visited affected areas to asses the risk of vector /water borne diseases to suggest control measures for preventing any impending outbreak.

Worked in Intergatrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) heading Entomology Unit co-coordinating with the entomologists/epidemiologists posted in the different districts/ states Hqrs. ,  dealing with the surveillance of vector borne Diseases in the country and development  trained man power in entomology .

Actively participating in lectures / field exercises / practical demonstrations in various WHO and government sponsored training programme to develop trained and skilled man power in the field of medical entomology.

An excellent idea to give opurtunity to all authors, especially from developing country to share their research findings even if it is of negetive result. Post publication peer-review is a groundbreaking idea.
