Dr. Francesco Tarantini

Brief Biography:


Male, 46 years old, living in Milano (Italy). Married with Daniela, we have Alessandro (14 years old) and "Willy-the-hairy" (our old, old, dog about 16 years old).

After a strong experience in informatics field as sales manager, in 1994 I decide to take the university degree in nursing (RN), completed on november 1997 (University of Milan, Italy) with a dissertation: The realisation of a web server to spread the culture and the development of nursing. The dissertation was awarded in 1998 with the third prize as best idea non-profit in the category youth - business plan of the contest "e-business award: new working and business opportunities on the net"  supported by: IBM Italia, IBM Foundation, Il Sole 24 ore, Corriere della Sera, Il saggiatore, Università degli Studi di Milano, Lotus Italia, OneWeb, AIESEC, ASNM, Agence Communication Européenne and under the patronage of: Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Craft, Municipality of Milan.

In 2002 postgraduate training course “Advanced systems of telemedicine, teleradiology, telehealth” (CEFRIEL - Politecnico di Milano, Italy).

In 2003 graduation in BSN (University of Padua, Italy) with a dissertation about CME and eLearning and Knowledge Management.

In 2008 graduation in MSN (University of Milan, Italy) with a dissertation about Web 2.0 and social network for health professional.

In 2011 completed a master (MHA) in healthcare administration and clinical governance (into the italian university: Master II livello) at University "Carlo Cattaneo" - LIUC, Castellanza.

After RN graduation I worked as operating theatre nurse, transplant operating theatre manager, and now at the nursing management office of the National Institute for Cancer Research in Milan (IRCCS Foundation).

From 2003 adjunct professor at University of Milan in medical informatics, nursing assistance, first aid and reanimation, for nursing degree and medical technologist course.

Teacher in Evidence Based Nursing and EBPractice for CME's courses.

Interested also in parmacovigilance. forensic nurse and clinical research.

Research interests:


My main research interests are nursing education, quality of care, elderly care and qualitative research specially done by grounded theory method; forensic nursing. I'm interested also in parmacovigilance and clinical research.
