  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

    A Comparative Anthropometric Study

  • Are these claims novel? If not, please specify papers that weaken the claims to the originality of this one.

    Yes

  • Are the claims properly placed in the context of the previous literature?

    Yes

  • Do the results support the claims? If not, what other evidence is required?

    Yes

  • If a protocol is provided, for example for a randomized controlled trial, are there any important deviations from it? If so, have the authors explained adequately why the deviations occurred?

    No deviation.

  • Is the methodology valid? Does the paper offer enough details of its methodology that its experiments or its analyses could be reproduced?

    Yes, of course.

  • Would any other experiments or additional information improve the paper? How much better would the paper be if this extra work was done, and how difficult would such work be to do, or to provide?

Nothing required. an adequate study. Very good

  • Is this paper outstanding in its discipline? (For example, would you like to see this work presented in a seminar at your hospital or university? Do you feel these results need to be incorporated in your next general lecture on the subject?) If yes, what makes it outstanding? If not, why not?

    Surely.

  • Other Comments:

This study will provide enough statistical data for further studies on other mongoloid races.

  • What are the main claims of the paper and how important are they?

The authors tried to compare and report cephalometry of two ethnic groups. The importance is to do with plastic surgeons, biological anthropologists and possible to the knowledge of the general public in identifying and imagining how those ethnic group are by seeing the indices and other parameters.

  • Are these claims novel? If not, please specify papers that weaken the claims to the originality of this one.

Yes, because this will add knowledge to the pool of data in the world so that these ethnincity have their cephalometry documented for future use by those mentioned above and others who may wish to use the information.

  • Are the claims properly placed in the context of the previous literature?

Yes, at least they mentioned works done in other continent like America.

  • Do the results support the claims? If not, what other evidence is required?

    Yes

  • If a protocol is provided, for example for a randomized controlled trial, are there any important deviations from it? If so, have the authors explained adequately why the deviations occurred?

    NA

  • Is the methodology valid? Does the paper offer enough details of its methodology that its experiments or its analyses could be reproduced?

Yes, but there are other methods which are far better than this for example, laser scannings, photography methods etc.

  • Would any other experiments or additional information improve the paper? How much better would the paper be if this extra work was done, and how difficult would such work be to do, or to provide?

Yes, for example, anthropometric analysis of the same ethnicity using difrent methodology like photography, laser scanning etc.

  • Is this paper outstanding in its discipline? (For example, would you like to see this work presented in a seminar at your hospital or university? Do you feel these results need to be incorporated in your next general lecture on the subject?) If yes, what makes it outstanding? If not, why not?

It is ok but not all that outstanding because it is not something new though new to those ethnic group.

This study aims to provide a database of certain anthropometric measurements for Tharu and Mongoloid ethnic races of Eastern Nepal.

Yes. It would b  great seminar at a university for academics who are involved in various epidemiological studies.

  • Other Comments:

This study showed significant differences in various measurements between males and females of Tharu and Mongoloid backgrounds as the article itself states. There is a need for further studies to establish the scientific reasons for variations in measurements among these pure race ethnic study populations of Nepal.
