This well crafted and meticulous study contains results which provide significant contribution to the field of melanoma research. In addition the importance of this paper lies in the fact that a large number of tumour samples were used for interpreting the result. The wealth of information obtained using relatively simple techniques has provided us with insight on the evolution of melanoma cells and their interaction with the surrounding tissue.

I am a neuroscientist and I have 20 years experience in research. Although my work is not directly related to cancer research I have used some of the experimental techniques that are described in Prof. Iyengar's paper.
