Behera S et al. ., here, evaluated the antioxidant activity of ocimum canum hydro-alcoholic leaf extract for the prevention of hepatic ischaemia by using both in vitro and in vivo studies. The experimental design and methodology are well organized and presentation is well defined. The paper contributes to the readers who would like to do Phytomedicinal research. After adding the following discussion in the revised manuscript, the paper is recommended to be opened for the readers.

  1. The Abstract is well written however most of the part described the methods. Please reduced the methodology from abstract and add one sentence representing the importance of present study.
  2. The Introduction is too much long. Reader will be exhausted to read this part. Please make it short and emphasis on the target points. For example, the study was design to evaluate the antioxidant activity of OC for the prevention of hepatic ischemia. So, no need to emphasis on cardiovascular diseases related introduction. Please try to emphasis on what is known and what is unknown related to the present study. And finally on the unknown clue you will focus on your present hypothesis in the Introduction chapter.
  3. In the Materials and Methods please provide the full address, Company name or the related Plant specimen storage for future with their voucher number.
  4. The statistical analysis for 4 group’s comparison with t test is not well enough. So, One way analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by any post hoc test (rather then t test) is recommended.
  5. In addition, the reviewer thinks that immunohistochemistry for OS marker like DHE or 4-HNE of Liver is essential.
  6. In the Discussion section you should stand your result cited by the previous research finings. This section needs rewriting.
